I think there are two reasons caused Gatsby’s death: his idealized and the society. Gatsby was idealized. He loves Daisy and his heart never changed even Daisy did not love him anymore. He wanted to be with Daisy but Daisy was no longer the girl he met when he was young. She has changed from pure to pursue money and enjoyment. Daisy loves money, she did not care about Gatsby, who took the responsibility for the accident made by her. His purity made him die at the end. Daisy did not come in his funeral, she was on vocation. I feel pity about Gatsby. If he realized earlier that Daisy actually didn’t care him, maybe he wouldn’t die。
